I'd love to, but I think that is the last Saturday of Pennsic (Aug 9). Still, I might try and go because I've done crazier things than play dress up, drive home 6 hours, and then go play dress up!

It will be the week after Costume College so you may not be the only slightly manic costumer there. :>

Sounds like Fun!
My regency dresses are still a work in progress (I'm stuck on the corset), but I would LOVE to go to this, and maybe it will help work up my motivation to get my costume finished. I'm new to this online community: feel free to check out my blog.

This could be interesting. I wonder if the dancing will be correct :)

I'm sure it will be. The dance group in Alexandria has an excellent reputation and Gatsby's does several period Georgian dances a year as well. I was noticing there are dance classes for the event the day before and the month before if you need a refresher. :>

Not really. I belong to a Historical Dance group (that is looking for new dancers), and a historically correct (led by a professional dance historian) social dance group.

The question that will determine accuracy is: do people finish their sequence with a jete/assemble? (yes, I know the spelling there is wrong).

too rich for my blood, I'm afraid--45$ is convention money for me. But it looks like an awful lot of fun! I do hope someone will get pictures.
